Sharad Pawar Said: BJP Spreading Hatred Through ‘The Kashmir Files’,

New Delhi (NewsReach) : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, who is part of the ruling coalition in Maharashtra, also attacked the BJP on Thursday over The Kashmir Files film. Pawar alleged that the saffron party was creating a “poisonous environment” in the country through the film to spread “false propaganda” about the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley.

The film ‘The Kashmir Files’ is based on the story of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir and the atrocities on them during that time. The film is doing great at the box office, many states have made it tax-free and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also appealed to watch this film. This film is made by famous director Vivek Agnihotri.

Sharad Pawar was addressing a convention of his party’s minority department in Delhi. “Such a film should not have been allowed for screening, but it was given tax exemption,” he said. Those who are responsible for uniting the country are encouraging people to watch this film which makes people angry.

This was the second program of the NCP in the national capital in the last three days. The party is also preparing to organize a big public meeting in Delhi to celebrate its foundation day on June 10.

‘If Kashmiri Pandits migrated, Muslims were also targeted’
NCP chief said that it is true that Kashmiri Pandits had to leave the Valley, but in the same way Muslims were also targeted. “Pakistan’s terrorist organizations were responsible for the attacks on Kashmiri Pandits and Muslims,” he said.

Pawar, a former Union minister, said if the Narendra Modi government really cares about Kashmiri Pandits, it should make every effort to rehabilitate them and not create anger in their minds about minorities. Pawar also criticized the BJP for dragging Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru into the debate when the exodus happened .

Noting that Vishwanath Pratap Singh was the prime minister when Kashmiri Pandits had to flee the Valley, he said, “VP Singh’s government had the support of the BJP. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was the Home Minister and Jagmohan was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, who later contested the Lok Sabha elections from Delhi on a BJP ticket.

He also hit out at the BJP for trying to target Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his remarks about the film. Pawar said political movements were welcome, but criticized Kejriwal for talking in the interest of minorities. BJP is taking the country to another path. It is destroying the unity of the country.
