“My High-Pitched Voice Manufacturing Defect”: Amit Shah

New Delhi (NewsReach) : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday reacted to a remark by Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandopadhyay in Lok Sabha that he never scolds or gets angry but gets angry when the question of Kashmir comes.

In a lighter vein, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said in Lok Sabha that he has a “manufacturing defect” of a high-pitched voice and does not get angry except for on issues related to Kashmir.

In a friendly exchange with Opposition benches, Shah said he does not scold anyone or get angry.

Placing the ‘Principal Procedure (Identification) Bill, 2022’ for discussion and passage in the House, Shah said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is preparing a ‘Model Prison Manual’ which will be sent to the states. When Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy said that he had not seen the draft of any such manual, Shah said, “No, because you are not in the government.

The government is making it now. If you were in the government, you would have definitely seen it. I am saying this to assure you in advance.” On this, Trinamool Congress leader Sudip Bandopadhyay was heard saying in the House that “When you speak to Dada (Saugata Roy), you scold him”. In response, Shah smiled and said, “No, no… I never scold anyone. My voice is a bit high. This is my ‘manufacturing defect’.

As opposition benches made some comments, Amit Shah said he will respond to the point made by “Dada”. As a Trinamool Congress member quipped in a lighter vein that the minister responds to Dada in an angry tone, the minister made everyone smile with his reply.
