New Delhi : On the complaint of Nupur Sharma, former spokesperson of the suspended party from BJP, Delhi Police has given her security today. Joint CP of Delhi Police says that after receiving threats, Delhi Police decided to give security to Nupur Sharma. In this case, the Special Cell IFSC Unit of Delhi Police had registered an FIR against unknown people.
Nupur Sharma had complained to the Delhi Police that I and my family were getting death threats. Earlier yesterday, Nupur Sharma tweeted and said that I request all the media houses and everyone else not to make my address public. The safety of my family is at risk.
The Muslim community is very angry with Nupur for her remarks on Prophet Muhammad. BJP has suspended party spokesperson Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal from the party. There are many FIRs registered against Nupur Sharma in Maharashtra. Violent clashes broke out in Kanpur on June 3 following Nupur’s remarks on Prophet Muhammad during a TV debate.
In a letter to Nupur Sharma, BJP Central Disciplinary Committee member secretary Om Pathak said, “You have expressed contrary views of the party’s position on various matters, which is a clear violation of Rule 10(a) of the party’s constitution. It is directed to state that pending further investigation, you are hereby suspended from the party and from your responsibilities/actions with immediate effect.
However, after this Nupur Sharma issued a statement on Twitter apologizing for commenting on Prophet Muhammad. Nupur wrote, “I was going on TV debates for the last several days, where my adorable Shiva Ji was being insulted every day. It was being said in front of me that it is a fountain, not a Shivling. Many Shivlings are found on every footpath of Delhi. Go go and worship. I could not bear the insult of our Mahadev Shiva Ji like this again and again in front of me and I said some things in anger. If my words have hurt anyone’s religious sentiments, then I take back my words. It was never my intention to hurt anyone.
