“You Started It, India Will End It”: Governor Gen. V.K. Singh Backs Retaliatory Strike in Pakistan

New Delhi – In a bold and emotionally charged statement following the recent Pahalgam terror attack, Mizoram Governor and former Army Chief General (Dr.) V.K. Singh lauded the Indian Army’s decisive retaliatory operation conducted across the border in Pakistan. Speaking late Tuesday night, General Singh confirmed that the Indian forces had carried out a targeted assault on nine terror hideouts in Pakistan as part of a mission now dubbed “Operation Sindoor”.
“The beginning was theirs, the end will be ours,” said Gen. V.K. Singh, asserting that Pakistan initiated this conflict by taking innocent Indian lives, but India will determine how it ends.
He described Operation Sindoor as not just a military strike but a message of justice for the families shattered by the Pahalgam attack. The operation, he emphasized, was executed with exceptional precision and restraint, ensuring no Pakistani military facilities were harmed-demonstrating India’s strategic and moral high ground.
“Our soldiers made sure only terror camps were struck. This was a lesson – not an escalation,” Singh stated, adding, “This is the new India. We do not wait to bleed; we strike where it hurts, and we strike with purpose.”
He warned Pakistan in no uncertain terms: “Either stop supporting terrorism or face the consequences. If you have started this war by killing innocents, be prepared , India will decide how it ends, and it may well mean erasing you from the map.”
Calling for national unity, Singh urged Indians to stand behind the armed forces with courage and composure: “We may speak different languages or live in different regions, but we are one — 1.4 billion proud Indians. Let the world see our unity and our resolve.”
The remarks come amid rising tensions in South Asia following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed multiple lives. While the Indian government and military have maintained a focus on controlled retaliation, the strong words from the former General reflect the public mood and underline India’s zero-tolerance stance on cross-border terrorism.
