
A Workshop titled ‘’Transforming Schools – An Initiative to Implement NEP, 2020’’ was held in Army Public School (Primary Wing), Meerut Cantt on 27May 2022.
Meerut Cantt : The programme began with the opening address by the Principal, Dr (Mrs) Reeta Gupta, where in she welcomed the Principals and teaching faculty of all the Pre-Primary schools in the station viz. Golden Fish APPS, Sarvatra APPS, RAM APPS Bhagat Lines, Pine APPS, 510 Army Base Workshop APPS and RAM APPS 22 DIV. She also extended a warm welcome to Col Sanjay Babbar, SO School, Mrs Reinu Babbar and other guests present on the occasion.


This was followed by an interaction by the Head Mistress, Mrs Mamta Singh, in which she elaborated upon the important aspects of NEP, 2020. All the teaching faculty attending the workshop discussed the basic and fundamental concepts proposed by NEP, 2020. They also shared their experiences and best practices for the implementation of ‘Nipun Bharat Mission’ as proposed by NEP, 2020.They also had fruitful interactions on the implementation of ‘Vidya Pravesh-Three month Play based School Preparation Module for Grade-1’ which is aimed at promoting holistic development of students by providing age appropriate experiences through Play way methods and Joyful learning for developing the basic requisite competencies necessary for Grade 1. The participants also elaborated upon different ways for development of literacy and numeracy skills amongst the students of Classes I to III through ‘Foundational Literacy and Numeracy’ (FLN) Module which will serve as a strong foundation for further education. Mrs Anju Bala and her team of teachers demonstrated the FLN Module and Mrs Nisha Gaur and her team of teachers demonstrated the Vidya Pravesh Module through various teaching methodologies using creative, innovative and interesting techniques.



The Coordinator Primary Wing, Mrs Preeti Tyagi, explained how our teaching policies and practices should ensure seamless transition of students from APPS to Class I in APS for which collaboration between the two schools is vital.


At the end of the Workshop, the Principal Dr (Mrs) Reeta Gupta thanked all the participants for their active participation and meaningful contribution. She also congratulated them for the success of the workshop and said that the Teaching-Learning process can be made more effective and fruitful by using the techniques demonstrated during the Workshop which will lead to the holistic development of the students. This will also contribute to the development of critical thinking, creativity, linguistic skills, the ability to face new challenges along with inculcating moral values amongst the students.
