Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh on Tuesday wrote an emotional letter to former captain Virat Kohli. In this he said that I have seen him grow as a cricketer and a person. Yuvraj, a veteran of 304 ODIs, spoke about the many interactions he had with Kohli on and off the field. Both played together for the Indian team and IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2014. Now Kohli has replied to his letter.

Kohli tweeted, Thank you Yuvi Pa for all this love. Winning the battle with cancer is an inspiration to people from all walks of life, not just cricket. You have always been generous and caring about the people around you. I wish you happiness, God bless. May God be with you. Significantly, Kohli recently ended his tenure as the fourth most successful captain in Test history, winning 40 out of 68 matches.

Yuvraj, who played 40 Tests, told how Kohli inspired many players in the country with his hard work. Yuvraj tweeted, I would like to dedicate my special shoes to the little boy (Virat Kohli) of Delhi. He is celebrating his career as a captain who has brought smiles to millions of fans across the world. I hope you stay as you are, play the way you do and keep making the country proud. Virat, I have seen you grow as a cricketer and as a person. From that young player in the nets (who used to walk shoulder to shoulder with the stalwarts of Indian cricket) you are now a legend yourself, who led the nation. Your discipline, passion and devotion to the game on the field has inspired every young child in this country to take up the bat and dream of wearing the blue jersey one day.

He further wrote, You have raised the level of your cricket every year and have already achieved so much in this wonderful game that it makes you even more excited to start this new chapter in your career. You have been a great captain and a wonderful leader. I look forward to many more great innings from you chasing runs. Former Punjab Kings captain Yuvraj also presented a special edition of the Golden Boot to Kohli. Yuvraj wrote in the end, You will always be Cheeku for me and King Kohli for the world. Let the fire burn inside you always. You are a superstar. A special golden boot for you. Just keep making your country proud.
