Uzbekistan Woman Commits Suicide in Ghaziabad’s Max Hospital

Ghaziabad: A tragic incident unfolded at Max Hospital in Vaishali, Ghaziabad, where a woman from Uzbekistan was found dead by hanging in the bathroom. The hospital management promptly informed the police about the situation. Upon arrival, the police recovered the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. The Uzbekistan embassy has also been notified.

Admitted for Liver Transplant

According to ASP Swatantra Kumar of Indirapuram Circle, the incident came to light on Tuesday afternoon when the Kaushambi police station was alerted. The deceased, identified as 45-year-old Zulfiya from Uzbekistan, was admitted to Max Hospital Kaushambi for a liver transplant. She was staying in a private ward, where her husband was attending to her.

Zulfiya reportedly went to the bathroom in the afternoon and did not come out for an extended period. Her husband knocked on the door but received no response. Concerned, he alerted the hospital staff. When the staff broke the bathroom door open, they found Zulfiya hanging by her hijab.

The Kaushambi police have sent the body for an autopsy and are conducting a thorough investigation. They are also questioning Zulfiya’s husband to uncover any possible reasons behind her suicide. As of now, the cause of Zulfiya’s drastic step remains unknown.
