Thief Nabbed After Brazen Break-Ins in Ghaziabad: Booty Recovered

Ghaziabad: In a major breakthrough, the Ghaziabad Crime Branch has arrested a sly thief involved in a series of daring break-ins at homes and stores by breaking locks. Stolen goods and burglary tools were recovered from his possession.
The accused had recently targeted the office of Advocate Sanjeev Agrawal (Supreme Court) in Raj Nagar, breaking the shutter’s lock and making off with an estimated sum of INR 1,50,000. Earlier, on August 13, 2023, he had tampered with the lock of the residence of Sanjay Agrawal in Kavinagar police station area and stolen cash and silver coins. Both these incidents were reported at the Kavinagar police station.
The relentless efforts of the Ghaziabad Crime Branch led to the arrest of this thief on October 14, 2023. He was found in possession of an estimated one lakh twenty-five thousand rupees in cash, silver coins, as well as high-quality burglary tools like a crowbar and pliers.


In his statement, the captured thief, Karan, revealed that he is a 12th-grade pass-out and had been involved in thefts for the past two years. He primarily worked alone and resided near N.H.-324 Global Jindal City in Sonipat. His modus operandi was to execute these burglaries with extreme caution, often operating in Ghaziabad, particularly in the Kavinagar area. Karan confessed to spending his ill-gotten gains on indulgent pleasures and intoxicants.
The accused has been involved in four criminal cases in Ghaziabad, and with this arrest, the local authorities are hopeful that they have successfully put an end to his criminal activities. The Crime Branch of the Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate led the operation.
