Sameer Wankhede appeared before the NCB panel in Delhi in the investigation of the allegations of extortion..

Former director of NCBs Mumbai regional unit Sameer Wankhede arrived at the agency’s headquarters in Delhi on Saturday. According to the report of news agency PTI, former Mumbai zonal director of NCB Samir Wankhede appeared before the departmental vigilance panel. The panel is probing allegations of extortion in connection with the arrest of Shah Rukh Khans son Aryan Khan and others. Sameer Wankhede’s team raided the cruise to arrest Aryan Khan and others. 

Official sources said that Sameer Wankhede presented official documents related to the raids conducted at the international cruise terminal in Mumbai in October last year to Dnyaneshwar Singh, NCB Deputy Director General, Northern Zone. This is not the first time that Sameer Wankhede has appeared before the Vigilance Panel. Even before this, he and his team had appeared before the Vigilance Panel in the said case.


It is understood that the fresh appearance of Sameer Wankhede is part of the closing process of the investigation. According to the PTI report, after this a report will be presented to the Director General of NCB on behalf of DDG Dnyaneshwar Singh (NCB Deputy Director General, DDG). Dnyaneshwar Singh, a 1999 batch IPS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre, is the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of NCB.


The investigation of the said case was entrusted to Dnyaneshwar Singh after an affidavit was filed by Prabhakar Cell, an independent witness in the cruise drugs case. The affidavit claimed that extortion bids of Rs 25 crore were made by some officials of NCB Mumbai and others to release Aryan Khan in this case. Let us inform that a total of 20 people, including Aryan Khan, were arrested in the cruise drugs case, who are now out on bail.
