Rajnagar Extension : Thieves returned stolen items to the victim through courier

Ghaziabad : In an interesting turn of events, thieves in connection with a burglary case of Fortune Residency in Raj Nagar Extension returned the stolen items through courier. The family had gone to their hometown for Diwali celebration on October 23. They returned on October 27 evening only to find their house burgled. The case was published in media subsequently and interestingly, on October 31 the victim received a courier containing gold ornaments which were stolen by the accused.
Harsh, son of Preeti, said, “On October 31 evening, we received a courier. Name of Jeweler from Saraffa Bazar Hapur was mentioned as sender. Out of the alleged Rs.20 lacs jewelley stolen, Rs.5 lacs jewellery was received through the courier. The name of the Jeweller, Shop and Mobile number mentioned on the courier was found to be fake by the investigating team sent to Hapur.
DTDC courier boy delivered the parcel
Preeti Sirohi said, ‘At around 6 pm on October31, the courier boy of DTDC company came to their flat with a parcel. My name, flat and mobile number were also written on the parcel. On opening the packet, the jewellery kept in it was found which was stolen. Gold jewellery worth about five lakh rupees was kept in the packet. There was also a box of artificial jewelry, which was stolen that day.
The name in which the parcel was booked, there is no shop of that name
Preeti immediately informed the matter to the Ghaziabad police. Investigation revealed that the parcel has been sent in the name of Rajdeep Jewelers Hapur. The police reached Hapur Sarafa Market, but there was no shop by that name.
After this, the investigation was done after reaching the DTDC Courier Center in Hapur. During investigation, it was found that two boys had come and booked the parcel. The police have started the search for both the suspected boys by taking possession of the footage of the courier center. In the whole case, it is believed that a close person can also be involved in the theft, because usually the thief does not know the name and mobile number of the flat owner, although both these things are written on the parcel. Police has also collected the CCTV footage of the society and investigating the case.
