
Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation on Saturday has passed a resolution banning the breeding of dogs of Pitbull and Rottweiler breeds in the city. Official sources said that the proposal has now been sent to the Municipal Commissioner, who will issue a formal order in this regard. Along with this, some rules have also been set for those who keep dogs of other breeds.
The councilors created a ruckus in the municipal board meeting on Saturday. During this, BJP councilor Sanjay Singh had proposed a ban on keeping dogs of three aggressive breeds like Pitbull and rottweiler in the city, which was approved by Ghaziabad Mayor Asha Sharma.

According to the information, after a resolution was passed in the board meeting of the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, “The breeding of dogs of both these species for the purpose of domestication and trade in urban areas is prohibited. will be fined and the dog will also be confiscated.” At the same time, those who have kept dogs of these breeds will have to get sterilization done within 2 months and get them registered with the corporation. After this a fine of Rs 5000 will be charged from them.
It is worth noting that in the recent few months, incidents of dog bites have increased in many societies in Ghaziabad, in view of which there was a demand to formulate a policy for pet dogs.
