Noida Airport Metro Corridor clears the way for connectivity to Delhi, know the final route plan of High Speed Metro
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has proposed a 72-km-long high-speed corridor to connect the Noida International Airport being built at Jewar, Greater Noida, to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport). This distance will be covered in just one hour. Metro connectivity between the two airports will be completed in two phases. There will be 13 metro stations between Jewar and New Delhi railway station. After this, this corridor will connect with Delhi Airport Express Line to reach IGI. For this, a separate track will be made from the existing track, on which high speed metro will be run. Whose speed will be 120 kilometers per hour.
The construction work has started after Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Noida International Airport. The target is to complete the Noida International Airport by 2024. Meanwhile, the road for connectivity of Noida International Airport and Indira Gandhi International Airport has also been cleared. Arunveer Singh, CEO, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YIDA) said that a traffic survey has also been done for this. About 72 km long metro corridor will be built between Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and Jewar Airport. About 12-13 metro stations will be built on this.
Metro route to be built parallel to Noida Expressway. Arunveer Singh said that the metro corridor will be built in two phases. The 35-km-long first phase will be both underground and elevated. It will have a connection near Knowledge Park-2 on the Noida Airport Aqua Line. There will be seven stations on this corridor till Knowledge Park-2 and interchange will be made here. After this the work of the second phase of the Metro link will start. The second phase will be 37 km long and will be built from Knowledge Park 2 to New Delhi Railway Station. This route will run parallel to the Noida Expressway. It will have New Ashok Nagar and Yamuna Bank stations.
Arunveer Singh said that the connectivity of the International Airport being built in Jewar will also be connected with Gurgaon in Haryana, so that people from other states can easily reach the International Airport, the outline of which has also been prepared and DPR’s of both the phases of Metro will be submitted by March 31.
