No certificate required to prove comorbidity: Health Ministry

The Health Ministry has said that a certificate is not required for the administration of precaution doses to those about 60 with comorbidities. The Health Ministry has given important information about this on Tuesday. Doctors can be consulted for taking precaution dosage.

There is good news for people above 60 years of age who wish a to get administered the precaution dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Health Ministry said on Tuesday that people above 60 years of age will not need to show proof of their comorbidities in order to take precaution doses. The ministry said that there will be no need to show or submit a comorbidities certificate from the doctor while taking the precaution dosage.

The Health Ministry further said that people taking precaution dosages are expected to consult their doctor before taking the decision of taking the precaution dosage.

The vaccination drive for administering the precaution or booster dose to frontline workers, healthcare workers, and those above the age of 60 with comorbidities will commence across India from January 10, 2022, and the registrations on CoWIN are expected to start soon.

The government, in its decision, said that the employees posted on election duty in the election states would be included in the category of frontline workers. The gap between the second dose of the vaccine and the precaution dose is likely to be 9 to 12 months.
