Good Option Is Necessary To Challenge BJP : G-23 Leaders

Adopting a model of collective, inclusive leadership and decision-making at all levels is the only way forward for the Congress.

G-23 leaders of Congress met at Ghulam Nabi Azad’s house in Delhi. Some G23 leaders, including Bhupinder Hooda and Manish Tewari, held a dinner meeting at the residence of former Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday to work out future strategy and discuss the party’s electoral defeat in the recently concluded assembly elections. After meeting the G-23 leaders said that adopting a model of collective, inclusive leadership and decision-making at all levels is the only way forward for the Congress.

G23 leaders said that a good alternative is necessary to challenge the BJP. With this, they said that we urge the Congress to initiate dialogue with like-minded forces to prepare the way for a credible alternative for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In the meeting held at the house of Ghulam Nabi Azad, Kapil Sibal, Anand Sharma, Manish Tewari, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Prithviraj Chauhan, Mani Shankar Iyer, PJ Kurien, Sandeep Dixit, Parineet Kaur, Shashi Tharoor, Raj Babbar, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and many leaders including Kuldeep Sharma and Bhupendra Hooda were present.

According to information received from sources, earlier this meeting was to be held at the house of former Union Minister Kapil Sibal. But after Sibal’s rhetoric against the Gandhi family, the place of this meeting was changed. Congress leader Vivek Tankha, who came to attend the meeting, said this was private party and rejected the talk of politics or rebellion.
