Ghaziabad : A shopkeeper was shot by two assailants when he tried to stop them from looting his shop in Rakesh Marg, PS Sihani Gate area of Ghaziabad today morning. Some miscreants tried to rob a goldsmith’s shop (Bhagu Jewelers) in broad daylight. At that time the bullion trader and his son were present at the shop. When both of them opposed the miscreants, they shot the businessman’s son and fled from there.
Police said the man is recuperating in hospital. According to police, Vikas and his father Arvind were at their Jewelry shop on Thursday morning. Two young men walked in posing as customers. They suddenly whipped out pistols and attempted to loot the shop.
Vikas resisted them and tried to raise the alarm. However, one of the assailants panicked and fired at him, which went straight into his stomach. After which the miscreants fled from the spot. The injured son was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of panic among the traders of Ghaziabad.
Ghaziabad SSP Muniraj reached the spot. He told that the forensic team has also reached for their investigation. Along with this, the surveillance team has been activated. The police is looking for CCTV footage from the surrounding area to get clues about the miscreants. The outpost in-charge Abhiman Singh has been suspended for being negligent. He assured that the criminals will not be spared, they will be arrested soon.
