Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations Conclude with Eco-Friendly Idol Immersion at Prateek Grand Society

Siddharth Vihar : The vibrant week-long Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at Prateek Grand Society, which commenced on September 7, concluded on September 15 with the immersion of Lord Ganesha’s idol and a grand feast. Throughout the week, the society promoted environmental awareness, abiding by National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines, culminating in an eco-friendly idol immersion.

In line with the green initiative, the society used an eco-friendly clay idol, and the immersion ceremony took place in a large drum set up near the clubhouse to prevent river pollution. The event carried a strong message of environmental responsibility, reminding residents of the importance of preserving natural water bodies.

Each evening, the society resonated with the sound of devotional songs and hymns, and residents gathered to offer prayers and distribute prasad. The highlight of the week was the cultural program presented by the society’s children on the evening of September 14. The two-hour event featured vibrant performances that captivated the audience and brought a festive charm to the community.

The final day saw a grand procession for Lord Ganesha’s farewell. Residents, dressed in traditional attire, danced to the beats of drums, singing “Ganpati Bappa Morya, next year come soon!” with joy and devotion as they paraded around the society. The atmosphere was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and a deep sense of reverence.

After the procession, the idol was respectfully immersed in a drum near the society’s swimming pool, amidst emotional farewells. The eco-conscious immersion was a testament to the community’s commitment to balancing religious traditions with environmental sustainability.

The festivities concluded with a communal feast, where residents gathered to enjoy a meal together, strengthening their bonds. The celebration not only honored Lord Ganesha but also emphasized the importance of eco-friendly practices, with residents vowing to continue the tradition with even greater responsibility in the coming years.

With smiles, tears, and promises for the next year, the Prateek Grand Society set an inspiring example of how devotion and environmental care can go hand-in-hand.
