Enhanced Security Measures and Route Diversions Implemented at Delhi-UP Border Ahead of Independence Day Celebrations

Ghaziabad: In anticipation of Independence Day celebrations, the Delhi-UP border will witness heightened police presence starting from tonight. As a part of the security measures, commercial vehicle entry will be restricted completely along with the implementation of route diversions. Following inputs from Delhi Police, the Ghaziabad Traffic Police has released a route diversion plan. This arrangement will be in effect from 12:00 AM on August 13 until 12:00 AM on August 15, including the main event time.

Considering the recent incidents of violence in Nuh, Haryana, the entire Uttar Pradesh has already been on high alert mode. In light of the upcoming August 15 celebrations, the police vigilance has been further intensified.

According to sources, the Ghaziabad Police will conduct thorough checks on every vehicle at the Delhi-Gazipur border before allowing entry into Delhi. Commercial vehicles will be restricted from entering Delhi through the following routes:

  1. Via NH-9 towards UP Gate
  2. From Dabar T-Point towards Maharajpur
  3. Via Mohan Nagar towards Seemapuri
  4. Via Loni Border into Delhi
  5. Through Pustak Khajoori Marg towards Delhi
  6. Via Bhopura Border

These security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety and security of the citizens during the Independence Day celebrations. The Delhi Police and their counterparts in neighboring states are working collaboratively to ensure a smooth and secure environment during this significant event.

This security arrangement underscores the authorities’ commitment to maintaining peace and order while facilitating the smooth conduct of celebrations.
