Young Founders of Gurukul School Step Into the Startup World, Championing Aatmanirbhar Bharat

Ghaziabad |
In a bold and inspiring move toward nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit among students, Gurukul The School in Ghaziabad has launched its Young Founders Program, empowering students to take their first steps into the startup ecosystem. Backed by the school’s Entrepreneurial Club, Sustainability Club, School Council, and White Canvas India’s Young CEO Initiative, this initiative is a promising stride toward building Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).
The students have already started developing and producing eco-friendly products such as jute bags, reusable bottles, and even handcrafted chocolates. These products are being marketed within the school first, and then the young entrepreneurs plan to expand their sales to other schools, colleges, and local markets across Ghaziabad and neighboring cities.
Speaking about the initiative, Principal Gaurav Bedi highlighted the enthusiasm of young minds during their school years:
“When children are in school, they are curious, eager, and full of energy to learn. If we channel that energy toward startups and hands-on learning, by the time they graduate, they won’t be job seekers – they’ll be job creators.”
The program is the brainchild of Founder-Director Sachin Vats, who envisions building an ecosystem where students not only understand how to develop a product but also learn the regulatory, branding, and marketing aspects of running a real business.
One of the standout accomplishments of the first batch is the creation of chocolates that not only met hygiene standards but also received approval from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), a remarkable feat for school students.

With skills ranging from product development to government compliance and sales strategy, these students are being equipped with real-world knowledge rarely found in conventional school settings.
The success of the first cohort has now inspired the launch of the second batch of the Young Founders Program, which began this Saturday with 100 selected students who will soon embark on their own entrepreneurial journeys.
This initiative not only fosters innovation and sustainability, but also plants the seeds of economic independence and leadership in India’s next generation.
