A wave of shock swept through the Elachipur village in Loni’s Tronica City police jurisdiction after a foul smell emanating from a house led to the discovery of a woman’s decomposed body. The unsettling incident unfolded on Tuesday evening, prompting police to initiate a probe into what appears to be a suspicious death.
According to officials, the alarm was raised by a local resident who noticed an unbearable stench coming from a rented room in the KC Colony area. The police were alerted via the emergency helpline number 112. Upon arrival, officers discovered the partially decomposed body of a woman, estimated to be around 40 years old, inside the room.

The woman was later identified as a resident of Delhi’s Harsh Vihar area. Sources revealed that she was frequently seen visiting the house, which was rented by a man known by two aliases, who has since gone missing. The man had been living alone in the house.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Loni, confirmed the details, stating, “The room was rented to a man whose whereabouts are currently unknown. Preliminary investigation suggests he and the deceased knew each other and were often seen together.” The deceased’s family has been informed, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause and time of death.
The case has raised several questions about the circumstances surrounding the death. Local police teams have launched a search operation to trace the absconding man, whose identity and links to the case are now central to the investigation.
As residents remain rattled by the grim discovery, authorities have assured that no angle is being ruled out, and all evidence is being carefully examined to determine whether this was a case of foul play.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns around urban safety and the need for timely tenant verification in densely populated areas.
Further updates are awaited as the investigation progresses.
