Ghaziabad,: Following the recent alarming incident of water contamination that left hundreds ill in a posh society in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, another wave of concern has gripped residents. This time, it’s in one of the prominent societies of Rajnagar Extension.
Residents have taken to various social media platforms and WhatsApp groups, expressing distress over the quality of water supplied to their homes. The echoes of the Indirapuram crisis are resonating strongly, prompting fears of a potential recurrence in a different locale.
In a déjà vu moment, complaints flood the digital sphere, detailing accounts of foul-smelling and visibly contaminated water running through taps. The haunting memories of the previous incident linger, urging authorities to take proactive measures to prevent a similar health crisis.

The earlier ordeal in Indirapuram saw around 700 residents falling ill due to the consumption of contaminated water, with the number surpassing a thousand later on. Confirming the gravity of the situation, the Ghaziabad Health Department’s team, led by the Chief Medical Officer, detected fecal contamination in the water samples collected from the affected society.
Residents recount how they endured days of receiving filthy water, which eventually led to the hospitalization of seventeen individuals, while over 950 others underwent treatment.
With the specter of another water crisis looming large, residents implore authorities to conduct thorough checks and ensure the safety of water supplied to high-rise societies across Ghaziabad. The fear of history repeating itself underscores the urgency for swift and decisive action to avert a potential health catastrophe.
