Venomous Cobra Found Inside Woman’s Car on Ghaziabad Elevated Road; Traffic Police’s Swift Response Averts Major Mishap
- Authorities Advise Vehicle Owners to Inspect Cars Thoroughly Before Starting During Monsoon Season

Ghaziabad: A potentially life-threatening incident was averted on the Ghaziabad Elevated Road after a venomous cobra was discovered inside a moving car driven by a woman on her way to Noida. The timely intervention and presence of mind displayed by the Ghaziabad Traffic Police prevented what could have turned into a serious accident.
According to initial information, the woman was driving towards Noida when she became aware of an unusual movement inside her vehicle. Upon closer inspection, a venomous cobra was found inside the car, creating a highly dangerous situation. Alarmed by the discovery, she immediately sought assistance.
Traffic police personnel responded promptly, securing the vehicle and ensuring the safety of the woman and other motorists on the busy elevated corridor. Their calm and coordinated response helped prevent panic and eliminated the risk of a road accident that could have endangered several commuters.
The incident has once again highlighted the increased movement of snakes and other reptiles during the monsoon season. Experts say that heavy rains and waterlogging often force snakes to leave their natural habitats, prompting them to seek shelter in dry and enclosed spaces such as vehicle engine compartments, wheel arches, garages and parking areas.
Road safety officials have urged motorists to remain extra vigilant during the rainy season. Vehicle owners are advised to conduct a quick visual inspection before starting their cars, particularly if the vehicle has remained parked for several hours or overnight. Checking the engine bay, underneath the vehicle and around the tyres can help detect the presence of reptiles or other animals that may have taken refuge.
Officials also cautioned that if a snake is spotted inside a vehicle, people should avoid attempting to remove it on their own. Instead, they should immediately move to a safe location, keep a safe distance from the vehicle and contact the local police, forest department or an authorised wildlife rescue team.
The incident serves as a timely reminder that a few moments spent inspecting a parked vehicle during the monsoon can prevent a potentially fatal encounter and ensure the safety of both occupants and fellow road users.
