Under-13 Major State Badminton Tournament Kicks Off with Grandeur at City Club, Golf Links, Ghaziabad

The vibrant atmosphere of City Club, Golf Links in Ghaziabad set the perfect stage for the 1st Major Under-13 Badminton State Tournament, which was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and spirit. The ceremonial launch was led by Chief Guest and Muradnagar MLA Ajit Pal Tyagi, who inaugurated the tournament by breaking a coconut and cutting the ribbon, symbolizing the traditional and energetic start to this prestigious event.
Lalit Jaiswal, Chief Warden of Civil Defence, presided over the inaugural function, while MLA Tyagi inspired young shuttlers with his words of encouragement, expressing optimism for their bright futures and lauding the growing interest in sports among youth.
According to Narendra Sharma, Secretary of the Ghaziabad Badminton Association (GBA), this state-level championship has drawn over 300 young players from more than 70 districts across Uttar Pradesh. The tournament serves as a dynamic platform for budding players to showcase their skills and prepare for future challenges at state and national levels.
The event was also graced by Dr. Anjul Aggarwal, Vice-Chancellor of HRIT University, along with several dignitaries and sports stalwarts. BL Batra, National President of Amitra Foundation and Vice President of GBA, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all guests and participants for their presence and enthusiasm.
Adding to the eventтАЩs stature, former Commonwealth Games coach Amit Sharma attended the opening ceremony, inspiring young athletes and sharing valuable insights into professional sports.
Other prominent attendees included Gulshan Bhamri, Surendra Kumar Tewatia, Gaurav Gupta, Rajesh Kumar Mishra, S.K. Sharma, national player Rajeev Malik, and Gaurav Chopra, among others.
The tournament promises not just competitive matches but also a celebration of youth spirit, sportsmanship, and community support for athletics in Uttar Pradesh. It marks a crucial step forward in nurturing future champions from grassroots levels.
