Two Amity International School Students to Compete in National Thang-Ta Championship

Ghaziabad: In a proud moment for Amity International School, Vasundhara 6, two students from the school—Neelaksh Jay Bhatt (Class 11) and Aryan Singhal (Class 9)—have been selected to participate in the 30th Junior National Thang-Ta Championship, which will be held from October 5 to October 7, 2024, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

The students will compete in different weight categories, with Neelaksh participating in the 80 kg category and Aryan in the 70 kg category. Joining them in the team is Anas Ali from SSC Global School, who will compete in the 44 kg category. The trio will represent their schools and showcase their martial arts skills in this prestigious event.

Organized by the Madhya Pradesh Thang-Ta Association and recognized by the Indian Olympic Association, the championship falls under the Thang-Ta Federation of India. Thang-Ta, a traditional martial art from Manipur, is gaining recognition across the nation, and this event serves as a platform for young athletes to demonstrate their talent.

Amity International School’s Principal, Mrs. Sunila Atheli, extended her heartfelt wishes to the students, expressing her confidence in their abilities and hoping for their success. The team, led by Coach B.L. Thapa, has been rigorously preparing for the event and is determined to perform at their best.

As the students gear up for the competition, their participation is seen as a significant achievement, not just for the school but also for the city of Ghaziabad. All eyes will be on Gwalior as these young athletes compete in this exciting national event.
