Teachers’ Union Meets Basic Education Officer Over Long-Pending Arrears in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, May 26, 2025: A delegation from the Teachers’ Union met with the Basic Education Officer (BSA) to raise longstanding concerns regarding the non-payment of arrears owed to 18 teachers since 2016. The meeting was led by Dr. Anuj Tyagi, Provincial Vice President of the Teachers’ Union, who formally submitted a memorandum to the BSA.
Dr. Tyagi highlighted that in April 2016, 59 assistant teachers posted in primary schools were demoted, and their salaries were frozen. Although these teachers were reinstated to their original positions in February 2021, the salary differential for the period between April 2016 and January 2021 remains unpaid for 18 of them.
Despite repeated follow-ups by Rajapur Block President Manoj Tyagi, no resolution has been provided. Dr. Tyagi expressed concern over the lack of initiative by the Finance and Accounts Office, terming it a clear reflection of administrative indifference toward the teachers’ financial dues.
In response, the Basic Education Officer assured the delegation that their grievances would be addressed promptly and necessary action will be taken for the disbursement of the arrears.
Present at the meeting were Senior Vice President Adesh Mittal, Loni Block President Manoj Tyagi, Muradnagar Block President Amit Yadav, and Sudhir Kumar among others.
The teachers’ community remains hopeful that long-overdue financial justice will finally be delivered.
