Guidelines have been issued to the Meerut Municipal Corporation regarding Swachh Survekshan 2022. The schedule has also been fixed. Cleanliness survey teams can knock anytime between March 1 and 31. The uploading of documents on the portal will be completed this week. Now the work of field verification will start from March 1 to check the reality of the claims.
7500 marks set
This time the Ministry of Urban Development has fixed 7500 marks of Swachh Survekshan. Whereas last year the bar was of 6000 marks. Citizen feedback will be the mainstay of ranking this time. In this, at least seven types of questions will be asked from the citizens. On the basis of which the reality of the claims of the Municipal Corporation will be checked. Geo-tagging of buildings is also important in the survey. Public toilets have to be kept open 24 hours. Other necessary arrangements including sanitary napkins will have to be kept according to the standards. Cleanliness has to be maintained better. Garbage should not be left in the open. The system from garbage collection to disposal should be kept better. Let us tell you that for the last two years, teams are coming for the survey in March itself. Talking about the preparations, the Municipal Corporation has started wall painting.
This time the challenge is bigger
- Wet and dry waste is not being taken separately.
- Garbage transfer station could not be started yet.
- Open slopes are yet to be covered.
- Fresh garbage disposal could not start even this year.
- Disposal of construction material debris could not be started.
- 30 percent of public and community toilets are closed.
- In many areas, including Madhavpuram, there are issues on filth and waterlogging.
- Sewer network is in 37 percent of the city’s share. in which there has been no increase.
- 86.54 km of new sewer line has been laid, which is not yet operational.
- The work of beautification of ponds for water conservation has not been completed.
Citizen feedback started
The work of taking citizen feedback for Swachh Survekshan 2022 has started. The Ministry of Urban Development has issued guidelines. Citizen Feedback has 2250 marks. That is, if the citizen feedback is better, then the chances of good ranking will increase. People can give their feedback by visiting the Swachh Survekshan 2022 portal.
