Steel Trader and Wife Held Hostage in ₹1 Crore Loot in Kavi Nagar

Kavi Nagar, January 8: In a shocking incident, a gang of robbers looted approximately ₹1 crore from the residence of a steel trader in the Kavi Nagar area late last night. The robbers held the businessman and his wife hostage during the daring heist, which was orchestrated by none other than their domestic help.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 9:00 PM on January 7. The trader’s domestic worker, in collusion with accomplices, executed the crime, betraying the trust of the family.

The robbers entered the house, restrained the trader and his wife, and ransacked the property, stealing valuables worth ₹1 crore, including cash and jewelry. The traumatized family filed an FIR at the Kavi Nagar police station soon after the incident.

Police Investigation Underway
Authorities have launched an extensive investigation to apprehend the culprits. “We have identified the suspects based on the information provided by the victims and are working on tracking their movements. The involvement of the domestic help has been confirmed,” said a senior police official.

The incident has raised serious concerns about residential security in the area, highlighting the risks of employing unverified domestic workers.

Residents on Edge
Local residents expressed shock and fear over the incident. “It’s alarming to see such a breach of trust and safety. We urge authorities to strengthen patrols in the area and ensure justice is served,” said a neighbor.

This incident underscores the importance of conducting thorough background checks for domestic workers and the need for increased vigilance in residential areas.
