Speeding Truck Rams Stationary Vehicle on Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Killing 4 and Injuring 18

Ghaziabad: A tragic accident occurred on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) near Muradnagar in Ghaziabad early Sunday morning, leaving four people dead and 18 injured.

A speeding truck rammed into a stationary mini-truck carrying 37 brick kiln workers from Haryana to Uttar Pradesh. The mini-truck was parked on the roadside near Rewri Rewda village when the truck struck it from behind.

Four people were killed on the spot, and 18 others were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Nine of the injured were later transferred to GTB Hospital in Delhi for more specialized care.

According to Virendra Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), the cause of the accident is still under investigation. Police are examining CCTV footage to determine if the mini-truck was properly parked and if the truck driver was at fault.

The deceased have been identified as Irshad (20), Najmun (60), Sabina (21), and Maya Devi (40), all residents of Mazhla Kumruwa village in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh.

The injured include Shankar (70), Sunहरा (20), Mahendra (48), Ruchi (16), Hasnoor (3), Ruby (22), Shabnur (5), Suleman (28), Shahid (22), Shaad Mohammed (34), Khushnuma (22), Falaknoor (3), Ayan (5), Faizan (1), Chunu (30), Rasna (25), Anshika (12), Nanhi (35), Chand Babu (1), Suneini (8), Gufran (4), Khurshid (35), Falak (3), and Shan Mohammed Umar (13).

The accident has highlighted the dangers of speeding and reckless driving. Police have urged drivers to adhere to traffic rules and speed limits to prevent such tragedies.
