Shots Fired in Public Market: Murder Suspects Captured in Swift Police Operation

Meerut: Two individuals involved in a heinous crime were apprehended by the Brahampuri Police for the murder that took place in broad daylight at Meerut. The suspects, identified as Adil alias Kallu, son of Kale Khan, a resident of Neecha Saddik Nagar Police Station Lisadi Gate, and his accomplice Asif Bharti, son of Shakil, a resident of Neecha Sandadikanagar Police Station Lisadi Gate, were arrested. The police seized a loaded pistol, ammunition, magazines, and a motorbike used in the crime.

The incident occurred on the evening of July 8, 2023, around 5:00 PM near Bhumiya Pul on the Lisadi Road. Adil, who was allegedly involved in an old dispute, fired shots at the victims, killing him instantly. Following the incident, the Brahampuri Police registered a case under Sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against Adil alias Kallu and seven other accomplices.

Under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Meerut, the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Nagar, instructed the Brahampuri Circle Officer to oversee the investigation and ensure the swift arrest of the suspects. Acting swiftly, the Brahampuri Police, with relentless efforts, managed to apprehend both the criminals on July 10, 2023. The arrested individuals were identified as Adil alias Kallu, residing at House No. 71, Neecha Saddik Nagar Police Station Lisadi Gate, Meerut, and Suhaib, son of Farooq, residing at House No. 958, Neecha Saddik Nagar Police Station Lisadi Gate, Meerut. The arrest took place near Noornagar Cut around 10:00 PM. The police recovered a live pistol, four live cartridges, two .32 caliber magazines, and a stolen motorcycle, Super Splendor.

Legal proceedings are underway, and the suspects will be presented before the magistrate for further action.

The swift action by the Brahampuri Police in solving the case and apprehending the suspects has been widely appreciated. The successful operation brings hope for justice to the victim’s family and reassures the community about the police’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the city.
