Schools Across the City Hold Mourning Assemblies in Condemnation of Pahalgam Terror Attack

April 24, 2025 : In a united gesture of grief and solidarity, public schools across the city today held mourning assemblies to pay tribute to the innocent lives lost in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. The initiative was carried out in response to a nationwide call by the National Educational Institutions Association, following the tragic killing of 28 unarmed tourists by terrorists just two days ago.
The horrifying incident, which has left the nation deeply shaken, was condemned in strong terms during a solemn assembly held under the leadership of the association’s national president. During the meeting, it was unanimously decided that all school administrators would lead their students in a two-minute silence during the morning assembly to honor the memory of those who perished in the attack.
Additionally, teachers across participating institutions wore black armbands to symbolically protest against the act of terror and express their sorrow over the lives lost. The silent assemblies echoed the shared sentiment of pain, anger, and national mourning that has swept across communities in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack.

The coordinated response across educational institutions highlights the role of schools not only as places of learning but also as pillars of moral leadership in times of national tragedy. Students, teachers, and staff stood in solidarity-observing silence and offering prayers for the departed souls, while pledging to stand united against terrorism and violence.
In their message, school authorities emphasized the importance of instilling values of peace, empathy, and national unity in young minds, especially in challenging times like these.
The black armbands, observed widely in schools today, served as a quiet but powerful statement—a protest against brutality and a tribute to those who fell victim to a mindless act of terror.
As the nation continues to mourn, this gesture by the educational community stands as a beacon of collective conscience and a reminder that in unity, India finds its strength.
