School Timings Revised Amid Rising Pollution; Online Classes for Nursery to Class 5

Ghaziabad : In light of escalating pollution levels and the implementation of GRAP-4 (Graded Response Action Plan), schools in Ghaziabad have revised their schedules to safeguard students’ health. District Magistrate (DM) Ghaziabad issued directives to shift classes for students from Nursery to Class 5 to an online mode. Following these instructions, the District School Inspector released an official order on Tuesday.

The move comes as air quality in the region continues to deteriorate, making outdoor exposure increasingly hazardous, especially for young children. By implementing online classes, the administration aims to minimize the health risks posed by pollution to students while ensuring continuity in their education.

Parents and school authorities have welcomed the decision, appreciating the proactive steps taken to prioritize children’s well-being. However, some have expressed concerns about managing younger children’s attention spans in the online setup.

According to the District School Inspector, the shift to online classes will be effective immediately and will continue until further notice. Schools have been instructed to adhere strictly to these guidelines, ensuring a seamless transition to the digital learning format.

Experts have emphasized the need for stringent measures like this as pollution levels remain a significant public health concern in the NCR region.

This decision underscores the growing challenges posed by environmental issues and the need for adaptive solutions in critical sectors like education.
