Reviving the Lost Art of Letter Writing: Students Shine at Rajnagar Extension Event

Rajnagar Extension, Ghaziabad – In a heartwarming effort to rekindle the age-old art of letter writing, the Indian Postal Department, in collaboration with the Flat Owners Federation, organized a unique and enriching Letter Writing Ceremony. Held in Rajnagar Extension, the event saw enthusiastic participation from over 200 students representing nearly 20 schools from across the region.

The initiative aimed to instill in students the importance and charm of traditional communication through handwritten letters—something many have only read about in books. Participants were divided into two categories: Classes 6–8 and Classes 9–12, allowing them to compete and express themselves through the written word.

A Festival of Words and Expression

The venue buzzed with creativity as students penned heartfelt messages, showcasing their writing skills and imagination. The ceremony wasn’t just about competition—it was a celebration of heritage, language, and self-expression. A special stamp exhibition by the Postal Department added charm to the event, and attendees even got a chance to create their own customized postage stamps, a moment of pride for many.

Community and Leadership Support

The event was graced by several notable community leaders and educators, including Ward 50 Councillor Mrs. Suman Lata Pal, Director of GD Goenka School Abhi Goel, Federation President Rajkumar Tyagi, General Secretary Capt. Gopal Singh, Patron Dr. Rajeev Srivastava, and other distinguished guests such as Sharad Singhal, Manoj Kumar Agrawal, Vipin Tyagi, Varun Tyagi, Ved Prakash Verma, Prem Shankar Singh, Prachi Mishra, Chinki Sharma, Alok Gaur, and Anita Srivastava.

Capt. Gopal Singh, General Secretary of the Federation, highlighted the significance of this first-of-its-kind event in Rajnagar Extension. He extended his heartfelt thanks to the Postal Department staff for their collaboration and support.

Recognition and Rewards Await

It was announced that all participating students would be invited again on Sunday, April 27, at the same venue, where they will be awarded certificates in recognition of their talent and enthusiasm. Federation President Rajkumar Tyagi thanked GD Goenka School for offering the venue and full support for the program.

Aadhar Updation Camp Adds Value

As a bonus, the Postal Department also set up an Aadhar Updation Camp at the venue. Many participants and their guardians utilized the opportunity to update their Aadhar cards in a convenient and clean school environment. Media Coordinator Manoj Agrawal shared that attendees appreciated this thoughtful gesture and expressed gratitude toward the Federation and Postal Department for the initiative.

The Letter Writing Ceremony not only gave young minds a platform to express their creativity but also rekindled a nearly forgotten tradition, reminding the community that words written from the heart still matter.
