Raj Nagar Extension Residents Hold Candlelight Vigil in Memory of Pahalgam Terror Attack Victims

Ghaziabad, April 23, 2025 : In a moving display of unity and grief, hundreds of residents from multiple societies in Raj Nagar Extension gathered at the River Heights roundabout on Wednesday evening to pay homage to the innocent victims of the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. The attack, which claimed the lives of several unarmed Indian tourists, has sent shockwaves across the nation.

As the clock struck 8 PM, people from across Raj Nagar Extension came together, lighting shraddha deep (candles of tribute) in solemn remembrance. The atmosphere was filled with silence, broken only by prayers and the soft glow of hundreds of flickering flames, symbolizing both mourning and resilience.

The gathering was organized by RNEx Community, a local civic initiative, and saw participation from residents of several prominent societies in the area, including Brave Hearts Society.

Deepanshu Mittal, Founder and Director of RNEx Community and a resident of Brave Hearts Society, condemned the attack in strong words.

“We, the residents of Raj Nagar Extension, strongly denounce this barbaric and cowardly act that has shamed humanity. We demand justice for the innocent victims and call upon the Hon’ble Prime Minister to ensure that the perpetrators are caught and handed the harshest punishment without delay.”

The residents, cutting across age groups and backgrounds, stood united in solidarity with the families of the victims and the broader national sentiment against terrorism. Placards calling for peace, justice, and zero tolerance towards terrorism were held high.

This vigil follows a growing wave of public grief and anger across the country in the wake of the targeted killings in Pahalgam. Residents in Ghaziabad joined this collective mourning, reaffirming that terror will never break the spirit of India.
