Noida : As part of its Vigilance Awareness Week celebrations, Punjab & Sindh Bank’s Zonal Office in Noida launched a spirited walkathon on Monday, October 28, aimed at promoting awareness on vigilance, anti-corruption, and consumer protection. Employees from the Sector 63 branch enthusiastically participated in a 2-kilometer walkathon through Sector 63, creating a buzz and engaging local residents and passersby to build awareness on vital issues of vigilance in banking.
Leading the event, Zonal Manager Mahesh Sabbarwal highlighted the importance of consumer vigilance in combating corruption and protecting consumer rights. “It is essential for consumers to be vigilant and well-informed, as this empowers them to recognize and report corrupt practices that might otherwise go unnoticed,” Sabbarwal remarked. “This week serves as a reminder for both consumers and employees to uphold integrity and transparency in banking, ensuring a safer and more reliable banking environment for everyone.”
Employees held placards displaying messages promoting vigilance, transparency, and consumer rights, with slogans such as “Be Aware, Stay Vigilant,” “Say No to Corruption,” and “Your Awareness is Your Power.” Along with the walkathon, the branch also distributed informational leaflets and pamphlets encouraging individuals to learn about their rights and responsibilities as banking consumers. The campaign encouraged consumers to report any suspicious activities, emphasizing that customer awareness is the first line of defense against fraud and corruption in the banking sector.
Punjab & Sindh Bank’s Vigilance Awareness Week, running from October 28 to November 3, 2024, is aligned with the national initiative to curb corruption and ensure greater transparency in public service sectors.
