Prominent Mall’s Midnight Massacre of Majestic Trees Shocks Raj Nagar Extension

Ghaziabad: In a disturbing incident that raises environmental concerns, residents of Raj Nagar Extension have witnessed a shocking act of large-scale tree felling in the vicinity of a prominent under-construction mall last night.

Environmental enthusiasts in Raj Nagar Extension, R.P. Sharma, Dharmendra Choudhary and Advocate Vikrant Sharma, expressed their concerns as they rushed to the scene. They alerted the District Forest Officer, Manish Singh, and promptly informed the Forest Department’s inspection team, led by Inspector Sunil Rathi.

It has come to light that no permission was sought or granted for the felling of these trees. Raj Nagar Extension is already grappling with dust and pollution due to the ongoing construction activities, which makes the loss of these trees even more significant.

Raj Nagar Extension lacks parks or green belts. Therefore, the local community constantly strives to ensure clean air in an otherwise polluted environment.

This mindless urbanization and hasty construction of commercial establishments at the cost of green cover pose a severe drawback to the region. Raj Nagar Extension was once adorned with trees that provided shade and contributed to better air quality. However, rampant development has led to the erosion of these essential natural elements.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for better urban planning and more stringent environmental regulations to preserve the green cover of our cities. It is essential to strike a balance between development and nature conservation to ensure the well-being of current and future generations. The local community’s dedication to environmental causes remains a beacon of hope for preserving green spaces and clean air in the face of unchecked urban expansion.
