Open Canvas: Ghaziabad Schools Shine on World Dance Day at KDB Public School

Ghaziabad | April 29, 2025 : In a vibrant celebration of rhythm, tradition, and youthful creativity, K.D.B. Public School hosted its annual inter-school dance competition under the theme “Open Canvas” to mark World Dance Day, observed globally on April 29. The event brought together students from ten prestigious schools across Ghaziabad and Noida, showcasing the richness of India’s cultural tapestry through dance.
The event was graced by renowned Kathak exponent Parul Awasthi and Bhuvan Rao, founder of the Lord Dance Centre, Ghaziabad, who served as chief guests and judges. They witnessed an enthralling display of dance forms that highlighted the students’ creativity, discipline, and passion.
Kicking off the celebration, the school’s students presented a spiritual dance drama titled ‘Rudraksha’, portraying both the medicinal and spiritual significance of the sacred bead—introducing the audience to India’s profound heritage. While K.D.B. Public School organized the event, it remained out of the competition to provide a platform exclusively for visiting schools.

Each team, consisting of students from Classes VIII to XII, used dance as a language to convey stories, emotions, and themes that transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries. With the stage as their canvas, participants painted vivid narratives through traditional, contemporary, and fusion dance performances.
The panel of judges was visibly impressed with the depth of expression and stagecraft. After careful evaluation, the winners were announced:

- Second Prize: Thakurdwara Balika Vidyalaya
- Third Prize: Chaudhary Chhabil Das Public School
Winners were felicitated with certificates and trophies, and the audience responded with resounding applause, making the event a memorable celebration of art and culture.
