Notorious Criminal Bilal Nabbed in Early Morning Police Encounter in Ghaziabad
Ghaziabad, April 30, 2025 : In a early morning encounter, Ghaziabad Police arrested a wanted criminal, Bilal, following a brief chase and exchange of fire near the Kudiya Garhi underpass under the jurisdiction of Wave City Police Station.
The incident occurred around 5:00 AM, when a routine police checkpoint was set up for early morning surveillance. During the operation, a suspicious individual on a motorcycle attempted to evade the checkpoint. On being signaled to stop, the biker abruptly turned toward the Bhud Garhi dirt path, prompting a hot pursuit by police personnel.
As officers moved to apprehend him, the suspect opened fire on the police team with a country-made pistol (tamacha). In retaliatory action carried out in self-defense, police fired back, hitting the accused in the leg and successfully subduing him.
Upon interrogation, the suspect identified himself as Bilal, son of Zaheer, a resident of Kile Wali Masjid, Dasna. Further investigation revealed that Bilal is a notorious repeat offender with over two dozen criminal cases registered against him across Ghaziabad and the Delhi-NCR region.
Officials confirmed that Bilal was also a wanted accused in a recent case registered at Wave City Police Station, and during questioning, he confessed to committing the crime with an accomplice.
Following the encounter, Bilal was immediately taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment of the gunshot wound. Authorities have initiated further legal proceedings based on his statement and past records.
The Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate commended the prompt action by the Wave City Police team, whose alertness and courage ensured that a potential threat to public safety was neutralized without loss of life.
