New Delhi : Cars with sunroofs are gaining popularity in India. Having a skylight is something customers are willing to pay more for. In the past, cars with sunroofs used to be considered luxury cars that the average consumer could not afford. Until recently, many cars in India had panoramic sunroofs. With so many options available today, finding the perfect sunroof-equipped car can be a challenge. Here are the top 5 cars with panoramic sunroofs priced below Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) in India:

1. Hyundai Creta

 In India, the Creta starts at Rs 9.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 17.2 lakh. This makes the Hyundai Creta the most expensive model in India with a panoramic sunroof, with the SX model priced at Rs 13.46 lakh (all prices, showroom). Still, the car lacks many features, such as the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. 

The Hyundai Creta comes with three engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol producing 114 PS and 143 Nm of torque, a 1.5-litre diesel producing 1113 PS and 250 Nm of torque, and a 1.4-litre turbo On petrol, it produces 140 PS and 242 Nm of torque. The Hyundai Creta is available with both manual and automatic transmissions.

2. Tata Harrier

 First of all, the Tata Harrier does not have a skylight. Due to customer demand, the automaker installed a full-size panoramic sunroof for the model. The XT trim is priced at Rs 17.84 lakh (ex-showroom) where you can find it. The Tata has priced from Rs 14.54 lakh to Rs 21.81 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable cars in India.

The Harrier is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine with 170 hp and 350 nautical miles of torque, connected to a 6-speed manual transmission (MT) or automatic transmission.

3. MG Hector

One of the most attractive features of the MGHector is the panoramic sunroof, the first of its kind in its price range. Prices for the ‘Sharp’ start at Rs 16.63 lakh, while the prices for the “Hector” range from Rs 12.83 lakh to Rs 17.72 lakh. Prices (all prices, ex-showroom).

You can choose between a 2.0 turbo petrol engine producing 142 PS and 250 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine producing 161 PS and 350 Nm of torque in the Hector. The Mg Hector diesel is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the petrol engine is available with a CVT and a manual transmission.

4. Hyundai Alcazar

The Hyundai Alcazar is the only model on this list with a panoramic sunroof as standard. The sunroof is also voice-activated. Prices for the Alcazar petrol and diesel models start at Rs. 16.3 lakh and 16.53 lakh respectively.

The Hyundai Alcazar is available with 2 engine options: a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 157 bhp and 191 Nm of torque, with manual and automatic transmissions available. The other is a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 113 hp and 250 Nm of torque, available with both manual and automatic transmissions.

5. Hyundai Carens

The latest entry in the market with a sunroof, Kia Carens is an MPV which has SUV inspired design language. Kia Carens is one of the MPVs competing against Hyundai’s Alcazar by offering its top-end variants at Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom.) Kia Carens are also available with a panoramic sunroof but it is only available in top of the line Luxury plus trim. Kia caren is priced between Rs 8.99 to Rs 16.99 lakhs(ex-showroom).

The Kia Carens are powered by the same engine options like the Kia Seltos, with 1.4-litre turbo petrol producing 140 PS and 242 Nm of torque, while a 1.5-litre turbo diesel produces 115PS and 250 Nm of torque. The petrol engine is mated to a 6-speed manual or DCT automatic transmission, and the diesel is mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter.
