MLA Sanjeev Sharma Appeals to Defense Minister to Address Encroachment on Defense Land

Ghaziabad: In a significant step towards resolving a longstanding issue, MLA Sanjeev Sharma, along with MP Atul Garg, met Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at his residence in Delhi. The meeting aimed to address the encroachment on defense land in the Line Paar area of Ghaziabad, a problem that has been affecting the lives of thousands of residents for years.

The Problem at Hand

MLA Sanjeev Sharma highlighted that a vast stretch of defense land in the Line Paar area remains unutilized and has been encroached upon by antisocial elements and criminal groups. The encroachment spans from Valmiki Basti in Old Vijay Nagar to Chawla Hotel in Bhud Bharat Nagar, where illegal shanties have been set up.

“These illegal settlements harbor individuals involved in criminal activities, creating a climate of fear among the residents of Line Paar,” said MLA Sharma. He emphasized that clearing the encroachments would not only reclaim the land but also significantly reduce crime in the area.

The Defense Minister’s Assurance

During the meeting, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was briefed on the severity of the issue. MP Atul Garg supported MLA Sharma’s plea by stressing the daily challenges faced by residents due to the presence of these illegal occupants. Singh assured that the matter would be reviewed and appropriate action would be taken to resolve the issue.

Impact on Development

MLA Sharma explained that removing the encroachments would pave the way for comprehensive development in the Line Paar region. “This defense land holds immense potential for public welfare projects. Clearing it will not only eliminate criminal activities but also create opportunities for planned urban development,” he said.

A Call for Action

The MLA’s proactive approach reflects his commitment to addressing the grievances of his constituency. Residents of Line Paar have expressed their hope that this initiative will lead to a safer and more developed neighborhood.

The issue now rests with the Defense Ministry, and residents eagerly await decisive action to restore peace and unlock the potential of this valuable land.
