Midnight Brawl at Ghaziabad Cafe: Ex-Councilor’s Son, Head Constable Among 6 Arrested

Ghaziabad: A violent clash between two groups at the Crystal Cafe in Shalimar Garden late Monday night led to chaos that spilled onto the streets. Police arrested six individuals, including a Delhi Police head constable and the son of a former BJP councilor. The scuffle also resulted in a severely damaged Scorpio vehicle. Videos of the incident, captured during a birthday party, have gone viral on social media, showcasing the intense altercation.

The incident began when Anand Singh, son of Sanjay Singh, arrived at the cafe with friends for a party. Meanwhile, Delhi Police head constable Sonu, along with his group, was celebrating the birthday of gym coach Anil. The groups reportedly clashed over DJ song requests, escalating into a physical altercation that continued outside the cafe, causing panic among onlookers.
ACP Shalimar Garden, Saloni Agarwal, stated that the police responded promptly to the situation. Those arrested include Sonu (Delhi Police head constable), Surendra Baisla, Anil Kumar, Hemant Bhati, Anand, and Akash Bhati. Both Anand and Surendra were injured and underwent medical examinations.
The Crystal Cafe, previously linked to allegations of running a hookah bar, is now under scrutiny. The cafe’s operator, Pankaj, remains at large, and efforts are underway to apprehend him. Police have filed a case at the Shalimar Garden station and are examining CCTV footage to identify others involved.
