Meerut: In a significant breakthrough, the Meerut Civil Lines Surveillance Cell, in coordination with various police stations, successfully recovered a total of 101 stolen mobile phones with an estimated worth of approximately 21 lakhs. The recovery was made possible through the diligent efforts of the Surveillance Cell, culminating in the return of these devices to their rightful owners today.
The recovery follows a series of police inquiries into the matter, prompted by multiple petitions from individuals reporting stolen mobile phones. In response to these complaints, Senior Police Superintendent Meerut issued directives to the Surveillance Cell to recover the missing phones.
The Surveillance Cell, through its persistent efforts, managed to recover stolen mobile phones from Meerut and neighboring districts, associated with various mobile phone companies. The successful operation was carried out on September 28, 2023.
The breakdown of the recovered phones is as follows:
- Realme Company: 24 mobile phones
- Redmi Company: 09 mobile phones
- Oppo Company: 23 mobile phones
- Vivo Company: 17 mobile phones
- Samsung Company: 13 mobile phones
- Itel Company: 02 mobile phones
- Techno Company: 01 mobile phone
- Motorola Company: 01 mobile phone
- Mi Company: 05 mobile phones
- OnePlus Company: 05 mobile phones
- Micromax Company: 01 mobile phone
The recovery of these stolen mobile phones has brought immense relief to the affected citizens, and they have expressed their gratitude to the Meerut Police for their prompt action.
