Massive Fire Breaks Out Near Dev Heights in Ghaziabad, Creates Panic in Vicinity

Ghaziabad : A huge fire broke out near the entrance of Dev Heights, close to Dasna Stand, in the Wave City area of Ghaziabad, creating widespread alarm among residents and passersby. The fire, which originated from a stack of plastic pipes stored by the Jal Nigam for ongoing pipeline work in the Nagar Panchayat area, quickly escalated, covering the surroundings in thick black smoke and drawing crowds of onlookers.
According to eyewitnesses, the plastic pipes, left at the entrance of Dev Heights for upcoming water supply infrastructure, suddenly ignited, possibly due to an accidental spark or intense sunlight. Within minutes, the fire took on a severe form, with flames leaping high and thick plumes of smoke billowing into the sky. Local residents, stunned by the intensity of the flames, gathered near the site, worried about the spread of the fire and its potential impact on nearby buildings and vehicles.
Upon receiving the emergency call, the Ghaziabad fire department swiftly dispatched multiple fire engines to the scene. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the blaze, preventing it from reaching nearby structures and vehicles. After about an hour of intense efforts, the fire brigade managed to bring the fire under control, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Chief of the Ghaziabad Fire Department, explained that fires involving plastic materials, such as the pipes in this incident, are challenging due to their tendency to produce thick smoke and intense heat. “Our team responded promptly, and the fire was contained before it could pose a threat to the nearby residences. We are investigating the cause to determine if there were any lapses in safety measures,” he stated.
Residents of Dev Heights and nearby areas expressed relief after the successful firefighting operation but urged authorities to ensure the safe storage of construction materials in residential areas to prevent such incidents in the future.
