Ghaziabad | 28 April 2025
A major fire broke out on Monday afternoon at the Aditya Building (A-12 RDC, Rajnagar), causing panic among occupants but ending without any casualties, thanks to the swift and coordinated action of the Ghaziabad Fire Department.
At around 3:13 PM, an emergency call was received at the Kotwali Fire Station reporting flames at the multi-storey commercial complex. Immediately, one fire tender stationed at the court duty site and three additional fire tankers from Kotwali Fire Station were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the blaze had spread vertically through the building’s electric shaft, affecting floors from the second up to the eighth. Realizing the gravity of the situation, the fire units quickly deployed hose pipes and began efforts to contain the fire.
Reinforcements were called from Vaishali Fire Station, including three more fire tenders and a hydraulic platform. Additionally, one fire tender from Sahibabad Fire Station was sent to assist in the rescue and firefighting operation.
Approximately 70 to 80 people were trapped on the upper floors due to the dense smoke and fire. With commendable efficiency, fire crews utilized ladders on three sides of the building and the internal staircases to evacuate all trapped individuals safely.

Under the leadership of Ghaziabad’s Chief Fire Officer, the teams wearing BSAT (Breathing Apparatus Sets) successfully managed to control and extinguish the fire before it could escalate further. Senior police officials including DCP City and ACP Kavinagar, along with other fire department officers, were present at the site overseeing the operation.

The quick thinking and brave efforts of the fire and rescue teams averted what could have been a massive tragedy. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities reported in the incident.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is expected to follow.
