Meerut : A student studying LLB in Meerut was murdered by his gay friends. First Yash was strangled and then after this, several pieces of his body were cut, stuffed in a sack and was thrown into the drain.
The police recovered the body of the student from Pilokhari drain of Lisadi Gate late on Saturday night. The relatives of the deceased Yash protested at the post-mortem house. Demanding compensation, the relatives were accusing the police of negligence. However, after persuasion by the police, the family cremated the body at the crematorium in Surajkund.
Yash Rastogi (22) of Jagriti Vihar Sector-6 of Medical Police Station was studying law. On the evening of 26 June, Yash left the house with a scooty. Yash had said at his house, “I will come in a while.” He did not return. The family has lodged a report of kidnapping of the student in the medical station.
When the police traced the location of Yash’s mobile, his last location was found near Pilokhadi in Lisadi Gate area. Based on the CDR, the police took his friends Shavej, Alijan and Salman into custody. At first all three kept misleading the police that we have no information about Yash. After this, the police interrogated them strictly.
According to the police, the accused Shavej, Alijan and Salman told during interrogation that they and Yash had a homosexual relationship. Before killing they had also committed misdeeds with him. The neck was later cut with a knife. Then the body was cut into several pieces. Stuffed the body in a sack and threw it in the drain. Police said that during interrogation, the accused have also admitted to committing rape before the murder. However, the police say that only after the post-mortem report it will be known how the murder was committed.
During interrogation, the accused told that they had killed Yash on June 26 itself. SP City Vineet Bhatnagar says that Yash started blackmailing youths belonging to gay groups. The accused Shahvej has a factory to make iron goods. The accused told that Yash was blackmailing them. Due to which they killed Yash by planning. SSP Rohit Singh has also interrogated the accused in the night.
