Kuttu Flour Consumption Leads to Mass Illness in Muradnagar

Muradnagar: In an unfortunate incident in Kanauja village of Muradnagar, Ghaziabad, dozens of people have fallen ill once again after consuming Kuttu (buckwheat) flour. The incident took place on the first day of Navratri when two families prepared and consumed Kuttu Atta (buckwheat flour) Prasad in the evening. Shortly after, individuals began experiencing continuous vomiting and reported severe headaches and stomach pains.

Concerned neighbors took prompt action and admitted the affected individuals to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

The details of this entire incident came to light when the Ghaziabad Food Department received information about it. Subsequently, the Chief Food Safety Officer, along with his team, visited the local stores where the families had purchased the Kuttu Atta.

In an effort to ensure food safety, samples of Kuttu Atta and various other food products were collected from all the stores. These samples are currently undergoing laboratory testing to determine the cause of the mass illness.

Local authorities and health officials are working diligently to identify the source of contamination and prevent further outbreaks. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of food safety, especially during festive occasions when traditional foods are consumed in large quantities.
