Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrated at Manyavar Kashiram Government College, Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: Manyavar Kashiram Government College in Ghaziabad commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas with a series of heartfelt tributes and patriotic events. The ceremony began with a warm welcome for the Chief Guest, Brigadier Shalabh Sonal, and the Guest of Honour, Colonel Kushveer Nanda. The college’s Acting Principal, Dr. Jyoti Yadav, ANO Lieutenant Meenu Varshney, Dr. Updesh Verma, and other faculty members honored the distinguished guests with saplings and mementos.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets set the tone for the day by performing patriotic songs and dances, infusing the event with a spirit of national pride. Brigadier Shalabh Sonal, in his keynote address, provided an in-depth account of the Kargil War, detailing the strategies and sacrifices made by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force to reclaim the infiltrated territories from Pakistan. He highlighted the heroic actions of Captain Vikram Batra, whose bravery became a symbol of the nation’s resilience and courage.

Colonel Kushveer Nanda also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of duty and service to the nation. He encouraged everyone to draw inspiration from the valiant soldiers of the Kargil War and to commit themselves to the service of the country in their respective capacities.

The event was skillfully anchored by ANO Lieutenant Meenu Varshney. The celebration saw the active participation of students and faculty members, reflecting the collective respect and admiration for the Kargil War heroes.

Adding a creative dimension to the commemoration, a poster competition was organized where students and NCC cadets created beautiful posters to honor the martyrs of the Kargil War. Maheshar, a B.Sc. student, secured the first position, followed by Cadet Himani in second place, and Cadet Muskan Kashyap in third. The Chief Guest presented the winners with awards, recognizing their artistic tributes to the nation’s heroes.

In her vote of thanks, NCC Officer Lieutenant Dr. Meenu Varshney expressed her gratitude to the Acting Principal Dr. Jyoti Yadav, the esteemed guests, faculty members, and students for making the event memorable. The ceremony concluded with a tree-planting activity in the college premises, symbolizing growth and remembrance.

The Kargil Vijay Diwas celebration at Manyavar Kashiram Government College not only honored the bravery and sacrifices of the soldiers but also instilled a sense of patriotism and duty among the young minds present.
