K.D.B. Public School Hosts the Prestigious Nirmal Jyoti Bajaj Football Tournament 2024
Ghaziabad: The much-awaited Nirmal Jyoti Bajaj Football Tournament 2024, an annual inter-school competition, commenced with grandeur at the sprawling grounds of K.D.B. Public School, Kavi Nagar. The sixth edition of this three-day event, held in memory of the late Mrs. Nirmala Jyoti Bajaj, aims to promote holistic development and prepare students to face life’s challenges. The tournament is scheduled from December 19 to December 21, 2024, and features 20 prominent school teams from across Ghaziabad.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed a festive atmosphere, with General Secretary of Gautam Buddha Nagar Football Association, Mr. Wajid Ali, as the chief guest. He was warmly welcomed by Arnav Bajaj, the school manager, and Principal Mrs. Nivedita Rana. The event began with a melodious welcome song followed by vibrant cultural performances that set the tone for the exciting matches ahead.
Thrilling First-Day Matches
The tournament’s opening match saw Sundar Deep School win the toss and face ASSI Convent. Both teams showcased commendable skill and enthusiasm, but ASSI Convent clinched the victory with a stunning 3-goal lead.
The second match featured Gurukul Da School and Bhagirath Public School. Gurukul, after winning the toss, delivered an impressive performance, scoring two goals and maintaining a clean sheet to secure the win.
The highlight of the day was the third match between K.D.B. Public School and Wisdom Tree School. The host team, after winning the toss, delighted their home crowd with a spectacular display of skill, scoring five goals and claiming a dominant victory.
Leaders Encourage the Players
Principal Mrs. Nivedita Rana, along with Vice Principal Mrs. Namrata Dubey, encouraged all participants, emphasizing that, “Victory and defeat are mere outcomes; what matters is the effort and determination displayed during the game. Sports are about pushing limits and setting new goals.”
