Innocence Lost: 6-Year-Old Abducted, Murdered for Ransom

Meerut : A tragic incident unfolded in Dhanpur village, located in the Incholi police station area, when a 6-year-old boy named Puneet alias Kanha Yadav was kidnapped and brutally murdered on Sunday morning.

The boy, who was playing outside his house, was kidnapped around 7 AM. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of 50 lakh rupees. Despite the family’s efforts to find him, Puneet’s body was later discovered in a sugarcane field belonging to a local resident, Charan Singh. The body showed signs of strangulation, and his mouth was stuffed with sugarcane.

The shocking incident enraged the villagers, who demanded the presence of high-ranking officials and refused to let the police take the boy’s body away.

Puneet’s father, Gopal Yadav, is a constable in the Uttar Pradesh police, currently stationed in Saharanpur. The family found a ransom note demanding 50 lakh rupees at their home after Puneet went missing, which led to a frantic search involving the local police led by SO Yogendra Kumar.

Suspicion fell on Gopal’s former servant, Titu, and his wife, Suman, who have since been taken into police custody for questioning. High-ranking officials, including SP Ayush Vikram and CO Civil Lines Abhishek Tiwari, along with forces from several police stations, are present at the scene to handle the situation.

The investigation is ongoing, and the community is in shock over the senseless murder of the young boy. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward. They are also investigating whether there are any other people involved in the crime.

This is a developing story, and we will continue to update it as more information becomes available.
