India’s First Rapid Train Ready

Ghaziabad : The work of assembling the coach of India’s first rapid train has been completed. On Monday, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) shared the picture of the country’s first rapid train with the media and informed them about it. Now the work of testing will be started by taking the train to the workshop, preparations have been made to bring the train on the track for a trial run in November 2022. In December 2023, passengers will be able to enjoy the journey on the train.

NCRTC is constructing the country’s first Regional Rapid Transit System Corridor between Delhi and Meerut. There are three sections in this corridor. The primary section covers an area of ​​17 km from Duhai to Sahibabad, where rapid train operations are to start in March 2023. The work of monitoring and maintenance of the train will be done from Duhai Depot. An administrative building and workshop have been constructed here. The construction work of the viaduct from Sahibabad to Meerut Tirahe to Ghaziabad station has been completed, the track is being laid.

The train is ready, but not in running condition yet:

NCRTC Chief Public Relations Officer Puneet Vats said that the coaches of the rapid train have been added, but this train is yet not operational. An electric line is required to run this train, this work has not been completed yet. In such a situation, the train will be pulled from the machine and taken to the workshop. Necessary work is yet to be done inside the train to start all its functions. Then the testing work will be started.

Features of Rapid Train:

  • It will run at a maximum speed of 180 kmph.
  • It will run at an average speed of 100 kmph.
  • The train will have six coaches, out of which one coach will be reserved for women.
  • There will be a business class coach inside the train, in which food items will also be available.
  • Mobile charging facility will be available near the seat on the train.
  • Wi-Fi facility will be available inside the train to the passengers.
  • There will be a separate rack for keeping the luggage on the train.
  • In case of emergency, the patient can be taken on the stretcher inside the train.
