Health Nightmare Unleashed: Contaminated Water Ravages Indirapuram Society, Hundreds Stricken ill

Ghaziabad: In a posh society of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, around 700 residents fell sick due to consuming contaminated water, with the number now surpassing a thousand. The Ghaziabad Health Department’s team, led by the Chief Medical Officer, confirmed fecal contamination in the water based on the report of water samples provided.

The matter of contaminated water in the society reached the World Health Organization. A team from the WHO visited on Wednesday. According to media reports, the team not only inspected the water but also gathered complaints from the residents.

Residents of the society informed the local post how the water coming into their homes was extremely dirty and foul-smelling. This persisted for several days, resulting in a child being admitted to the ICU. Seventeen people had to be hospitalized, while more than 950 others are undergoing treatment with medication.

Meanwhile, the management of the Society seems to be ignoring the issue of contaminated water. When approached, they first refused to discuss the matter and later stated that no one is sick until the report from the CMO comes.

On the other hand, residents of the society claimed that despite repeated complaints, no action was taken. Continuous consumption of contaminated water led to a worsening health condition for many. They mentioned that people fell sick due to the sewage water contamination.
