Ghaziabad Shivers as Cold Wave Hits, Dense Fog Reduces Visibility to Zero

Ghaziabad: Residents of Ghaziabad woke up to a chilly Friday morning as the city grappled with cold wave conditions. Dense fog enveloped the city overnight, reducing visibility to zero on key roads, including the busy Meerut Road, at 6:15 AM.

The minimum temperature recorded this morning was 7°C, intensifying the wintry chill. Thursday night also saw icy winds sweeping through the region, leaving residents bundled up in heavy woolens.

Weather Forecast

According to meteorological predictions, the day is expected to see light sunshine after noon, offering some respite to the residents. However, the biting winds blowing at a speed of 10 km/h will keep the cold weather firmly in place.

Impact on Daily Life

The dense fog disrupted early morning travel as motorists struggled with near-zero visibility. Commuters on Meerut Road faced significant challenges, with many vehicles moving at a snail’s pace. Schools, offices, and other establishments may saw delays as people navigated through the dense mist.

Precautionary Measures

Authorities have issued advisories urging residents to exercise caution while driving and to avoid venturing out during early hours unless absolutely necessary. Layers of warm clothing and protective gear are recommended to shield against the piercing winds.

With the cold wave persisting and visibility affected, Ghaziabad is set for another freezing day. Residents are advised to plan their day accordingly and prepare for a chilly evening ahead.
